Environmental Chemistry is concerned withreactions in the environment. It is about distribution and equilibria between environmental compartments. It is about reactions, pathways, thermodynamics and kinetics. An important purpose of this Handbook, is to aid understanding of the basic distribution andchemical reactionprocesses whichoccur intheenvironment.
