I awoke in the middle of the night to write this children's book with the following thoughts on my mind and in my heart...~ I want to honor my good friend and brother Major Greg Barney who made the ultimate sacrifice and had such an amazingly powerful impact on his community while positively influencing the lives of so many people.~ I need to help shine a positive light on the relationships that can and do exist between police and African-American communities around our nation.~ I know there has to be more children's books written for all children with African-American boys in mind. It is critically important for them, as African-American boys, to see themselves in books because there is a literary imperative.~ I believe we should be a blessing to those around us. Therefore, all of the proceeds of this book will go to support Major Greg Barney's two sons.Lastly, my hope and prayer is that my son, William III, will one day see me as his hero!Dr. William Greene
