The inspiration for the title of Kindred Spirits comes from Jesus when he asked what he thought of his cousin, John the Baptist's ministry. In Matthew 11:14 he says, "And if you will receive it, this is Elias (or Elijah in Greek) which was for to come." In footnotes from Dakes Annotated Bible Concordance Regarding this. We find in Luke 1:17 Jesus says, "And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias," and in John 1:21 we find he was not Elias in person, but a kindred spirit.
