"Engagement and Philosophical Responsibility" is the the ninth volume of the scholarly journal Eco-ethica. It includes revised papers from the 39th International Symposium of Eco-ethica, held November 6-10, 2019 in Sweden, as well as additional essays relevant to this theme that were accepted after external review. "Eco-ethica" is the Latin name for the ethics of the human world newly enlarged by technology and culture. The term was introduced by the Japanese philosopher Tomonobu Imamichi, who established these symposia to explore issues arising from technology-mediated changes in our human habitat and moral consciousness.
