"Public Space and Democratic Participation" is the the eighth volume of the journal Eco-ethica. It includes revised papers from the 38th International Symposium of Eco-ethica, held October 8-13, 2018 in Denmark, as well as additional essays relevant to this theme that were accepted after external review. "Eco-ethica" is the Latin name for the ethics of the human world newly enlarged by technology and culture. The term was introduced by the Japanese philosopher Tomonobu Imamichi, who established these symposia to explore issues arising from technology-mediated changes in our human habitat and moral consciousness.
