Stickboy #1 F.T.W. was Dennis Worden's third comic book but first with a real publisher (Fantagraphics Books, originally published in 1988), and his first to be one story for the entire book. The character Stickboy had previously appeared in punk fanzines as early as 1981, and in Worden's self-published books "SLUR" in 1982 and "Bongo Dick" in 1986. Some think this was Worden's best work ever. The story follows Stickboy from quitting his job and becoming homeless, to joining a cult, to the end of the world and his own life. Yes, this was not for kids. This was done back when underground comics were being called "alternative" comics, before "graphic novels" had become acceptable mainstream fodder sold in any bookstore.
