The story line of "The Herald Waheed" is about Waheed, who worked as a cop in Dubai. He witnessed misery after misery committed in the name of violence and anger. The narrator, Hatim, and his other two friends tried helping him through his depression. Waheed always wanted to change the region he was in, which was filled with turbulence due to militant groups springing throughout the city. Eventually, he gained a staff of power, and led everyone to a world he dreamed of, as the herald he was. The setting of the book takes place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The rise of these militant groups caused Waheed to ask fundamental questions to the problem. Working as a cop, such disturbance in the region caused him much unrest. He knew that the way the region was going, it couldn't handle much more. The groups were rising in strength, chanting mantras causing all to feel the turbulence. The target of these groups was the Western region of the world. Waheed saw this, and eventually is given the power to change this. He found a staff on the beach as a sign from God, and used its power to restore stability to the region.
