John Cross was christened March 23, 1757 at East Knoyle, Wiltshire, England. He was embarked on the convict ship "Alexander" when the first fleet was organized in January 1787. He arrived in Port Jackson July 14, 1788. Mary Davison came with the second fleet aboard the "Juliana". She was born ca. 1769 in Scotland. She became John's wife ca. 1792 and they had nine children. John was buried 24 December 1824. Mary died 13 December 1827. Descendants are still to be found in New South Wales and perhaps elsewhere.
