In 1855 19 year old chemistry student, future economist and logician, William Stanley Jevons came to work as an assayer at the new branch of the Royal Mint in Sydney. In the 1950s, Sydney's extensive tram network was shut down. This saw the end of tram services through Annandale, along the Crescent, Booth Street and Parramatta Road.
